Elise Payette

Case Manager

Elise has been with Rebecca Kitson law since September 2017. She is originally from Mundelein, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. She received her B.A. from the University of New Mexico in Latin American Studies, Spanish, and Portuguese. Elise is fluent in Spanish and English.

Elise is based in the Albuquerque location. Elise was drawn to immigration law because she has always been interested in directly working with the bilingual community. She is trained in healthcare interpreting and has also worked in language education for children. Elise feels especially connected to the immigrant community because of her experiences growing up in an immigrant neighborhood in Chicago. She is passionate about immigrant rights and social justice. She enjoys the diversity of our work and collaborating with her colleagues at RKL who are dedicated to serving and strengthening our community. In her free time, she loves to read, cook, travel and spend time with her friends. Elise also comes from a family of classical musicians and played classical violin and fiddle for 12 years before coming to New Mexico.
